Have you noticed a pattern of what Jesus does when he meets people?
• He meets their needs
• Through Healing
• Through Feeding
• Through Forgiveness
• Through Casting out demons
• Through the Word/Gospel

Today we are looking at two different healing:
• Healing of the Officials Son
• Healing at the Pool of Bethesda

Healing of the Official's Son
• Roman Official (not Jewish) comes to Jesus
• His son is dieing and ask Jesus to Heal him
• V.48 Unless you see you won't believe (not just for the official, for the people around)
• We get entranced by signs and wonders when Jesus is right in front of our face, we often wait for these then trust in him
• Jesus says go your son will be healed...
• He believed his WORD and ran home
• His son was healed at the exact word Jesus said he would be healed.

Healing at the Pool of Bethesda
• At a Pagen pool in Jerusalem
• Bethesda means house of Mercy
• One man that was an invalid for 38 years
• Jesus ask him if you want to be healed?
• Jesus said to him get up and walked. Later he would forgive him
• The Pharisees are against him since he did the healing and forgiving on the Sabbath.
• Sabbath is for rest not work in their eyes
• Sabbath is a gift for man that we can choose to receive not something to be drenched in Legalism
• Sabbath is an invitation into rest

Family Questions
1. Has Jesus ever met your needs? When and How?
2. How often do you wait for a sign instead of just trusting God?
3. Does an invitation to be healed then forgiven sound enticing like the invalid man? Why or Why not?
