The Rev. Shelly Sorem serves as a Deacon at Grace Anglican Community. She has served in children, youth and women’s ministry in other churches. She enjoys helping others develop a passion for God’s Word and learning to apply biblical truths to their daily lives. She speaks at women’s conferences and retreats in the U.S. and internationally as well as leads Bible studies.
Shelly has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in counseling psychology. She taught elementary school and worked as a counselor for M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. She spent four years living the Middle East where she was very active in Christian ministry and helped start a women’s ministry at her church. In addition she serves as a Chaplain for the Westlake Volunteer Fire Department. Shelly is gifted at helping people connect with the Lord during difficult times in life.
Shelly and Bill have two daughters. Allison is a labor and delivery nurse and Emily is a a high school art teacher and they are blessed with one granddaughter, Adalyn.
