The Gospel in Moses (Part 1)

Preacher: Frankie Rodriquez Series: The Greatest Story Ever Told

Moses is a pivotal figure in the Old Testament. Had Pharaoh's orders been carried out, Moses would have been slain by the midwives; however, they feared God more than Pharaoh and spared him. Moses committed murder, killing an Egyptian, then fled to become a shepherd.

At about 80 years old, Moses had an encounter with God. It was God who sought Moses, not the other way around. When called by God, Moses hesitated, making excuses to avoid acting on God's behalf. God then reminded him that He is the God of the living, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Exodus 3:14-15 recounts God's words to Moses: "I am who I am," He said. "Tell the Israelites, 'I AM has sent me to you.'" God also instructed Moses to say, "The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you." This is to be His name for all generations to remember.
