Lenten Day of Prayer

At the Lenten Day of Prayer, you will engage in eight prayer stations based on the “I Am” statements of Jesus recorded in the gospel of John. John’s Gospel cites the phrase “I am” together with seven sets of names to record metaphors for Christ. Jesus says, “I am the bread of life” (6:35,48), “the light of the world” (8:12, 9:5), “the door” (10:7, 9), “the good shepherd” (10:11, 14), “the resurrection and the life” (11:25), “the way, the truth, and the life” (14:6), and “the vine” (15:1, 5). The prayer stations aim to help you encounter the love of Jesus through His “I am” statements, in an interactive, multi-sensory way.
The sign up for the Lenten Day of Prayer will be in the foyer at church or you can email RitaJLanham@gmail.com. Prayer times start at 5:30am on Friday, April 18th, and run every 30 minutes until 6:30pm. It will take about an hour to complete the prayer stations. Families/couples may choose to sign up together; please indicate the number of people who will be praying together when you sign up. Also, this is an excellent opportunity to invite a friend or neighbor so they too can experience the love of Jesus as they spend time with Him in prayer. Please register by Palm Sunday, April 13.
