Diocesan Winter Youth Retreat

Registration is now open for our Diocesan Winter Retreat. It will be held in La Grange, Texas at Camp Lonestar from January 28-30. The cost is $120 which will include housing, meals, snacks, a t-shirt, and of course a ton of marshmallows. Registration will run until Sunday, January 9. 

For those that have never been, you may be asking "what is a retreat?". A retreat is a weekend where we get a way from the rush and hurry of our lives leaving behind all the pressure from school, the technology that robs us of our time, and the anxiety of expectations. We get to spend time surrounded by nature from woods to a sky full of stars. We are spending time with our Diocesan family, meaning other students that are just like us. We will be hearing from great teachers we are lucky to have in our diocese along with having real discussion with our fellow students. Outside of the teaching, we get to enjoy the outdoors from playing a competitive game of gaga ball to just enjoying a nice swing. There will be both structured time and unstructured time. Finally retreat is safe place for students to explore their own faith. A place to ask questions, to learn, to develop into relationship with God, and a place where they are not alone.

This year's theme is "The God That Dwells Within". The Holy Spirit dwells within us and that is a weird concept to grasp, "God is actually in our body?" We want to explore this concept along with how the Holy Spirit works from the inside out. We will be exploring this theme through teachings, discussion, and excercises.
