Coronavirus Update: What About Sunday Worship?

Dear Fellow Travelers,

Events have been moving fast this week. On Sunday, the CDC said no meetings of 50 or more people. Then, on Monday, the President asked that there be no meetings of more than 10 people. Yesterday, Bishop Clark directed that we comply with the presidential request. This effectively prevents us from our normal Sunday gathering. What a difference a week makes.

This mandate to limit meetings to 10 or less is problematic for Christians. We are, after all, a gathering people. We gather to worship. We gather for fellowship. However, we will not be deterred.

Below is a video describing how we can and will worship together on Sunday and still maintain the required social distancing. It describes a shared service known as an Agape Feast.

As far as I know, nothing like this has been done before. It might be something that other people will want to emulate. I hope you will tune in and give it a try. And be sure to have a small bit of bread and wine with you.

To access our live stream Agape Feast, please go to our Facebook Page Here. We will be live at 10:30 a.m. and you do not need a Facebook Account to watch.

Since you can see us on our stream, it is only fair that we get to see you as well. It would be fun if you took a photo of your agape meal post it on Facebook, and tag us in it.

And, if the service blesses you, we would love to know it.

Grace to you,

Bob

Dear Fellow Travelers,

As you know, the President has directed that all meetings of 10 or more people be discontinued for 15 days. We will, of course, comply. We also know that God’s people want and need to be together. The video below discusses briefly how we will continue to do church and be the church while maintaining social distancing.

Grace to you,

Bob
